So it occurred to me that I’ve never actually shown any of the guest art I’ve done for other comics here on this site! There is an event called the Webcomic Secret Santa that I have participated in the past; it’s a lot of fun! This is a strip I did for Robert Cook’s Mansion of E last winter; it tied into the plot quite well!

Treasure
Ref: I referenced this last week, but just in case
In case it isn’t clear, yes, Percy did intend to tell Jorocks about it. Eventually.

Fanart by Louis: A Brilliant Plan
Another piece of fanart by Louis that I have colored; I absolutely love Jorocks’ expression in this one!

The Ordeal
Happy birthday to me! Because it’s my birthday, you get to see a comic that was previously lost! Remember how, in the last SR:Scouting from 2010, it was originally published in Golden Sun Lodge’s newsletter? Well, I had made a second one and sent it in, but it was never published. I had held off on posting it online until the Sundial was issued, and by the time the newsletter had come out sans comic, I had forgotten about it. When I was making May’s SR:Scouting comic, I happened to come across this file and decided to bring it back from the depths of my hard drive.
Since it is my birthday, you know what I’d really like? Lots of new readers! I wouldn’t say no to fan art, either. 😉

Clues
Ref: Nikki’s distraction | Key | Light | Matt Smith’s involvement/Percy’s money
I tried something new with the speech bubbles, as suggested by Nate Piekos. It’s subtle, but Jorocks actually appears in front of the bubble as opposed to behind it. Priority ranking, or something like that.
We’re in the final month of the fourth year! Not only that, but my birthday is Tuesday, so come back for a bonus SR:Scouting!
On a side note, this week was the first week that I’ve done some serious promoting of Spoofy Randomness. Lots of new visitors have been coming to the site! Welcome! Fell free to leave comments; I love hearing from readers!

Fanart by Louis: Percy and Nikki
My colored version of Louis’s fanart found here. They’re so adorable! Look at Percy’s face and try not to smile. I win either way; either you smile and I consider it a good day, or I got you to look harder at Louis’s awesomeness.
I enjoy coloring these. Louis’s fanart has a lot of lines, so it’s a change of pace from the main comic and is a fun challenge!

Backstage
Ref: Class with Timothy | He apparently moved
I realized I was still one band member short (the lack of two members, the other being Ella, was mentioned in the commentary here) when I sat down to make this comic and had to quickly come up with Mindy’s design (apparently she couldn’t make the photo shoot for the splash page). I was quite pleased with the result and the character personality I thought up for her (even though you don’t see it much here).
Obviously, Ella is just saying things to harass Percy. If you’ve ever been on stage before, you know that those lights are BRIGHT! Not to mention the audience is in the dark, so sunglasses wouldn’t help.

Fanart by Louis: Percy with Beaker and Periodic Table
Another take of Louis’s sketch, this time with a periodic table. This one looks really sharp as a desktop background; I’m always happy when it comes up in the rotation!

Impressed
Ref: Jorocks’ work outfit | Biochem
So I mentioned Jorocks being in a band two years ago…and then never really did anything with it. I decided that needed to change. I was wondering how I was going to get Percy to go to that concert, then I remembered that both Nikki and Chris are also from Greenpath.
Also, Percy’s distrust on local bands is not meant to be a slam from me. Personally, I have heard lots of great small bands. However, as Percy isn’t one to be on the music scene he probably would be a little skeptical of how good a few people who just play on the side could be. Sometimes it’s nice to be proven wrong!

Fanart by Louis: Percy with Beaker
Going back through and coloring some of Louis’s fanart. This is harder than coloring an average Spoofy Randomness strip, as Louis puts a lot more detail into her work. The original sketch can be found here.
