Percy appears to be emotionless again. Uh oh.

Seen A Ghost
And we’re back! Complete with saddle sores. Can we just ignore the art in Panel 3, please? I redid it several times and was never satisfied. Unfortunately, the need of a buffer really forced me to push this out anyway.
The story of Matt’s outfit can be read on this sketchbook page.

Join The Party
Ref: “Guardian Angel” | “Is that light supposed to be blinking?” | Percy’s friends are “voluntold” | Balloon
I can’t resist drawing Stefan and Mikhail every chance I get. Those two deserve their own spin-off, even though they have had almost no on-screen time.
I love Percy’s cocky attitude in Panel 1. It’s not often one gets to stare down a missile and win. And hooray, some characters other than Jorocks and Percy get a shot at some glory! Remember that Chris does not know about Ichabod’s powers. This is also Chris’s 100th appearance, according to my cast page!
Matt is in a new costume; check back Saturday for a bonus sketchbook comic! Bonus points if you realize why he is the chief scientific advisor.

Fear Not The Impending Missiles?
Ref: General Anatol | Neutrality
Having a hard time drawing sizes correctly now that I’ve gone totally digital. That SCR guy wound up being a little too tall and Percy was larger than intended. I managed to make both of them work (I actually like Percy better now, as it adds a bit more perspective), but it was annoying while drawing.
Ichabod hiding behind the smaller Nikki amuses me. And yes, I’m aware Percy was wearing gloves; he’s taking them off in Panel 2 for the sake of comedic effect.
Oh, and there’s impending missiles. That’s probably important. Percy doesn’t seem too worried, though.

Truth in Conspiracy Theories
Ref: Santa is a Communist | Last we saw the SCR
The Communist comic linked above is in the top ten of all comics I have made. It still makes me laugh.
The standing in the raft joke was a last-minute add-in that makes me smile, as I have spent a good chunk of my life at a Scout camp with a lake and have capsized a few times.

Land Ho!
I included the markers for Nikki and Ichabod, as they do look very similar now (and really, Ichabod looks more like Nikki than Nikki does at the moment). Also, while it will probably never be mentioned in the comic itself, in all of my files the beach is labeled as “Sandy Claus Beach”. Because I can.
Also, don’t drive on sand. Trust me. It doesn’t end well.

At Least It Wasn’t An “A-Bomb”
Oh, Ichabod…
This comic allowed me to show a little bit more of Leonardo’s capabilities. The front window also has a screen overlay, as shown in Panel 2; I can imagine Percy and Nikki passed some of their time of the drive by watching Lightning Bug. You can also see the blinking light that Nikki mentioned in a previous comic.

Mirror, Mirror, In the Van, Nikki’s Looking At Her Man
Ref: Elf-vial
First comic for 2014 and I remembered the copyright date change! SCORE! This also happens to be the 300th entry on Comic Rocket (including sketchbooks and SR:Scouting). Not to shabby!
Ichabod continues to crack me up with his snark.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure to look at my latest project, the Great Nebraska Highway Revision Project! This is a massive undertaking where I am researching the history of each highway and proposing changes to be made in the future.

Freezing Their Puns Off
Ref: Why the Arctic Circle Is Dark
I figured we had better get some good humor here before the mood gets a little darker. *ducks from the onslaught of snowballs*
Anyway, now the North Pole is actually in place! I debated as to what it would look like, but decided the traditional candy stripe was best. The bottom kinda looks like an old TARDIS console; I wonder if Matt had a role in that…? “Bzzoik” may be my new favorite sound effect as well.
Ichabod’s “coat” was a last-minute addition into the Christmas Eve comic (originally he was to appear with just his fur coat). The fact that he has a coat amuses me to no end.
